Week 4

This week I worked on creating a bay window on the side of the building, that stretched over both stories and will eventually link up with another window on the roof of the building.

This took most of the week, trying to get the geometry clean, and for all the detailing on the bay window to link in with what I had already created running around the sides of the main building.

I actually ended up sculpting this straight out of the side of the building, as the same object, which in hindsight probably wasn't the best idea, as this made it a lot harder for me, though it did help me to keep the geometry clean, which is probably one of the main issues that I encounter when modelling.

I'm pleased with how the bay window has turned out, however I do need to edit it after getting feedback from Jamie as I have made the first floor window too small, and it actually sits where the floor would begin, rather than at the correct window height. I'm not currently sure the best way to fix this but I will attempt it next week. The ideal height for this, would be to make the top of the window meet up with the detailing at the top of the building, and have the roof peaking above.
